Punto Rosso False Sunflower is a compact and short-lived perennial with coarse dark green foliage.  The lengthy bloom of large warm yellow flowers with dark center disks bloom continiously from throughout summer until frost.  Best bloom in full sun in dry to medium well-drained soils. 

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:   Low maintenance.  If grown in part shade plants grow taller and require support.  Sunflowers are generally susceptible to rust, leaf fungal spots and powdery mildew.  Watch for aphids

LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings, Borders, Woodland Gardens, Pond or Stream Sides, Rock Gardens, and Containers.

COMPANION PLANTS: Aster, Fescue, Shasta Daisy
