Persian Ruby Daylily is an evergreen perennial with strap-like deep green foliage that remains evergreen in milder climates.  The massive deep wine red flowers with a golden throat bloom in early summer.  The flowers attract butterflies and pollinators.  Best bloom in deep and rich well-drained soils.  Drought and salt tolerant once established.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:   Low maintenance.  Relatively pest free, but watch for mites, aphids, and thrips.  Daylily Rust can be problematic in some areas.  Divide every 3-4 years in fall or spring.

LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings, Borders, Woodland Gardens, Naturalized Areas, Wildlife Gardens, Coastal Gardens, and Containers.
