Jacob's Ladder is a compact shade-loving perennial with sage green foliage.  Its upright flowering stems sporting loose clusters of blue flowers and bloom through spring.  Best color in part shade and rich, evenly moist well-drained soils.  

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Low Maintenance.  No serious pests or diseases.  Does not do well with the hot humid conditions of the lower Piedmont or coastal plains.

LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings, Borders, Naturalized Areas, Rock Gardens, Wildlife Garden, and Containers.
