Prairie Princess Ironweed is a compact coarse herbaceous perennial with dense upright stems and rough serrated dark green lance-like foliage. Loose terminal clusters of fluffy bright rosy purple flowers bloom from late summer into fall before giving way to rusty seed clusters. Grows best in full sun and average to dry well-drained soils. Prairie Princess is mildew resistant.
